Before I get too far into this, I should probably explain my intent. There are no letters behind my name. I’m truly not an expert at anything.
So, ‘Who am I to offer advice?’ you ask.
No one, really.
I’m just a girl sitting in a room somewhere in the Midwest banging at the keyboard of her laptop. There are thousands of people just like me here. I recognize that.
The only thing that qualifies me to give valid advice on this subject is experience. I’m sharing what I’ve learned. It doesn’t get much simpler. I don’t expect you to view anything I have to say as particularly sage. I’m not looking for anything, except to entertain myself. If I happen to entertain you, that’s perfect. Should you actually pick up a tip or a trick, I’ll be overjoyed.
Here’s the thing…
If you want to build a sword, seeking advice from a professor of Medieval History wouldn’t make much sense. You’ll learn something—don’t get me wrong, it won’t be a complete waste—but you won’t learn the craft. If that’s your real goal, go to a blacksmith.
