Links Up! (Still Seeking BtVS and AtS FanFic Links)

I had a rough night tonight. I categorized all of the links I was given yesterday…or nearly all of them. The links page from Octaves of the Heart that scribesds gave me was a monster. I got about two-thirds of the way through it.

So, here’s the sitch now:

I have all of these lovely little pages I’ve put together to serve as containers for fanfiction links. I need something to put in them. You feel like being helpful?

All you have to do is tell me what you like and what you do. Select the page associated with your ’ship and drop a link in a comment. Or you can PM me here, or you can email me at Valyssia at BuffyWorld dot com. Please, if you choose to go the email or PM route, give me an idea what you’re handing off.

If a page for your specific ’ship doesn’t exist, let me know and I’ll remedy that. As this grows, I may merge some of the smaller pages. We’ll just have to see.

Oh, and please leave any general BtVS or AtS information site links on the main links page comments section. I’ll clean the comments as I post the links, so don’t be surprised if your comment goes bu-bye.

If you write in more than one ’ship, then comment in all the applicable places. Provided that your journal has some sort of navigation structure, I’ll post it.

Yes, I just said that I’ve opened this up to any valid hyperlink. I don’t care where it goes. All I care is that when I get there I can find my way around.

Honestly, I think LiveJournal is the perfect place to cultivate this. The Buffy community is still quite strong here and the comment system will allow the list to grow organically. In the future I may look for someplace more prominent to display our work.

I know you're not looking for individual LJ links, but Ruuger's "Ginormous List of Buffyverse Communities on LJ" would a great link to list, as people can then do their own digging, if they so choose:

I'm still working on it. I've got a pile more to add from today. I'm going to write tonight. I'll get to playing with links tomorrow after I compile my Herald entry.

Howard thinks I'm quite mad for starting this project. It has the potential to become as large as the screencap project we did for BuffyWorld. That only took two years. No big, right?

The potential pay off is similar. It could be a massively expansive list. We've discussed it and if I can get all of my ducks in a row the list will be featured as a part of BuffyWorld, which will be cool. It'll mean that new people just coming into the fandom will have a springboard from which to explore the community.

Even the people who've been around for a time might find something new to enjoy. I still find new things.

Omgosh, really amazing that you would do such a thing for the community.

Uh, I would have to agree with Howard, it is quite mad, but very noble of you to take on such a task. When it's done the wonderful fan world of BtVS will gain a wonderful resource.

I wish you the best in this endeavor! (I think it's never ending, which may be a good or bad thing, we'll always find something new on the web.)
